Correcting a procedure for blocking cylinder head water holes and sending a calorstat to fix running temperature.

Referring to your memo Sr.3/ET.1.2.37. in which you refer to the fall in average running water temperature with the rear cylinder head water holes blocked off, we would point out that the correct procedure is to block off water holes on front three cylinders, not rear ones. However, since your water temperature has fallen we deduce that you must have blocked off the correct holes, and that the error is one of dictation.

The reason the temperature has fallen is that the temperature is recorded at the rear of the cylinder head, which now runs cooler than previously. We are sending you a calorstat cover and spring whichshould be fitted to your radiator and will correct the temperature; this is being standardised shortly.
