To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson} 8899x. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson}2/MJ.7.11.30. 27-EX. NEW CAR FOR R.{Sir Henry Royce} As R.{Sir Henry Royce} proposes to leave for France during the first week in December, the coachbuilders must have the chassis for this car by November the 26th. We ought to have the chassis on test a week before this and there is therefore only a fortnight for its completion. Item 19. The radiator should be built up with the new 6 mm. square tubes expanded in one direction only E.81389, and having eight dents per tube. With reference to Item 15. The rear springs are now in the shop, the front have already been specified. Items 24 and 25. We do not want the auto friction spring drive but should fit the standard low inertia spring drive with windowed spring plate. The bonnet should be fitted with vertical louvres. Will you please note that Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} has agreed to the fitting of adjustable pedals and special set of side levers. We should be glad if you would let us know if there is anything which is likely to hold up the chassis and prevent the dates specified being worked to.
