Rubber Mounting of Body on 34-EX.

When we bring the red car, 33-EX, to London next week for a test on rubber shackles, we are particularly anxious to compare it with 34-EX which has the rubber mounted coachwork only.

We think the point is of sufficient importance to spend the day on this problem, firstly comparing the relative silence of the two cars on smooth surfaces and on setts, and secondly with regard to their roadability.

We appreciate that you will keep the red car for a day or two after this to confirm your impressions, but in our experience the greatest value is to be obtained by getting straight from one car into the other.

We suggest Wednesday as a suitable day.

At the conclusion of the tests the points arises as to which car we can bring back to Derby. We know that E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} is particularly anxious that 34-EX should be retained by Park Wards until they have the complete decision as to what body mounting shall be employed. You want 33-EX for a few days, and unless we run into some trouble when we get it on the road again we want you to have it. We therefore really want 35-EX, the green car, in exchange for the red one. We should like to know whether this is O.K.
