DYNAMO OT.25 EX TEST DEPT.

Upon investigation of this machine it was found as delivered to us to have been excited with the wrong polarity. This fact alone is sufficient to shew that the dynamo was not properly treated. The machine is O.K. in other respects.
Seeing that the solder had run (only just) we have added further blobs of solder to the commutator and have used the machine to experiment on the temperature required to just effect melting of this. There is a good margin between just melting the solder and doing any damage to the armature, so much so that we have suggested to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} that solder of a higher melting point might reasonably be used.
We return the machine herewith.

EFC.
