X87830 To BY from EFC. c. SFT{Mr Swift}/Mr. Brock. EFC3/T1.1.27. 40/50 DYNAMO AR.85 EX CHASSIS 20-HC. The running of the solder in this instance is due to this machine being one of the early ones with control brush setting of 120°, this angle being now 122°. Solder has been thrown from the banding wires. We do not see any reason to suppose that the running has been due to an open circuit or to the brush and commutator system, though there are small faults - as follows:- (1) The outer positive and negative brushes are slightly sluggish in their holders. (2) Oil cup on pulley end of machine is damaged. (3) Both control brushes are chipped and the megativ end cover securing plate is damaged - apparently by the application of some tool, and hammering. Commutator surface is in quite good condition, shewing no signs of excessive sparking. The dynamp is herewith sent to EY. EFC. | ||
