D/Sn.{Mr Sanderson} from Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} c.to EFC. c.to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c.to EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} c.to Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} c.to D/BP. c.to Rcy. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X. 4288 RECEIVED AUG 28 1922 Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}6/NJ28.8.22. Battery Service. Attached hereto is copy of letter from the Chloride Electrical Storage Co.Ltd., dated 25th inst. which has reference to a short discussion which took place at these Works with Mr.McKinnon on the 24th inst. D/BP. was present at the discussion on the 24th inst. when it was pointed out by Mr.McKinnon that the undertaking given by the Chloride Electrical Storage Co. is to deliver direct to a complaining customer a "renewal" battery, or whatever is required to remedy the complaint. It will be noted that in the present instance the Clyde Automobile Co., Glasgow, asked that a fully charged 12 volt battery be despatched immediately, which the Chloride Co. took to mean a new battery, not a "renewal" battery, and they (Chloride Co.) consider that they are entitled to charge for the new battery. As D/BP. possesses a copy of D/Sn{Mr Sanderson}2/GH12.5.22, I would suggest that he refers to Clause 2 and communicates the same, word for word, to the Clyde Auto.Co.
