Suggestion to modify the steering gear by replacing the ball thrust bearing with hardened steel and fibre washers to introduce friction.

With reference to the experiments with steering, and the fact that we have not sufficient friction to damp out the oscillations, I should be glad, if you would try removing the ball thrust bearing of the steering pivot, (This carries the weight of the car) and substitute in place of it two steel hardened washers with a fibre washer in between.
