1256 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/R.{Sir Henry Royce} 31st March, 1939. J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} Howlett, Esq., Wellworthy Piston Rings Ltd., LYMINGTON, Hants: Dear Howlett, Thank you for your letter. We have not thought of the raised crown piston applied to Diesel engines. It is extremely doubtful whether it would do any good on an oil engine in any case. Possibly you would like a set fitted to your own car so that you can appreciate what they are worth. T.C. Worth whom you will possibly remember is manufacturing General Filters, which we are using, will be in your part of the world next week, and hopes to call and see you re distribution possibilities. You may be interested to hear that we lapped Brooklands @ 115 m.p.h. on the streamline Bentley before we sent it back to France. Yours sincerely, | ||
