Y7520 TO R.{Sir Henry Royce} BJ. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} c to BY RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}8/BE. 5.5.26. RE HYDRAULIC DAMPERS FOR 7.EX. Y8520 Y7520 The reason why trouble was experienced with Hydraulic Dampers on R's car, was because the drilling jig had been madeto the wrong drawing. This however, was not Experimental Department's fault as F.74292 drawing was issued and showed drilling for these dampers. It has since been ascertained that this drawing was intended for EAC.VIII. only. Drawing F.74842 was got out in accordance with N.S. 2089 for the "Y" and "W" Series Chassis but never issued. Dampers would come in had drilling been in accordance with this drawing. Attached are prints showing the difference. RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} [Signature] | ||
