Radiator Blanking Plates for pre-war Cars.
--------------------

We have not yet received instructions as to what series of cars these plates should be fitted to, or what size of plates should be supplied to customers who may ask for them.

The following size of radiators were fitted to pre-war 40/50 HP. cars :-

Series. Height of Matrix. Remarks.

500. 18". Originally vertical straight

by the corrugated tube centre, and
these again are gradually being
replaced by the latest type of
round tube centre.

900. 20". Originally corrugated tubes, but
now being replaced by the latest
round tube.

1100. 19". As above.

1200 to Chiefly 20" As above.

"H" onwards. "Universal". As on present production.

Many of the cars fitted with 18",19" and 20" Radiators, especially those with the old type matrix, have none too much cooling surface for some of the longer hills met with, for example in North Derbyshire, and although admittedly overcooled for short journeys, we fear that with any appreciable reduction in cooling surface the water would be likely to boil on many hills met with in ordinary touring.

We think that a radiator sufficiently blanked to keep the water hot for town work, and short journeys, would necessarily be inadequate for a climb of several miles, and we
