In the meantime arrangements have been made with Messrs Shell Mex Ltd, & B.P. and the Anglo American Oil Co. to supply with each Release Note a Certificate to the effect that the fuel has been tested as specified and found to comply with the specification requirements for Knock Rating. Copies of this Certificate must be included in the Type Test Reports in lieu of the A.I.D Test Reports for Knock Rating. For all other specification requirements, the tests will be carried out at Kidbrooke, and the requirements of A.I.D Inspection Instruction No. E.115 will apply. Check Testing. With the introduction of these fuels the importance of check testing in accordance with A.I.D Inspection Instruction No. E.119 is emphasised and it is requested that early notification of receipt of the fuel be passed to I.M so that immediate action may be taken. Sub-contract Orders. It is essential that sub-contract orders for these fuels are placed as long in advance of the tests as possible as not only do these fuels require special blending but each blend is to be tested in the laboratory before it may be released.
