YNG See me 8.12.82. #5 To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} ROY{Sir Henry Royce}4/MG28.8.33 Standard Fuel for Aircraft Engines Arising out of the various discussions that are taking place regarding the above, and the new Fuel Specifications D.T.D.224 and 230 which will be introduced shortly, it is very evident the A.I.D will be taking samples and instituting numerous checks in connection with this fuel over and above those ruling hitherto in addition to which I understand the Petrol Companies will want good notice of our requirements in this direction, as not only will these fuels require special blending, but each blend will be specially tested prior to release. Would you, therefore, kindly give us the utmost possible notice of your requirements under this heading. Incidentally I might add we are in difficulties with the T.E.L Content Fuel recently delivered by the Shell Company, and Mr. Stephenson of their London Office, is coming down specially on the 7th proximo to go into Fuel matters with our people here. We already carry in Derby at the Anglo Depot stocks of Fuel to D.T.D Specification 224, but not of D.T.D 230 as yet, due to the negotiations now proceeding. As far as the Shell Company is concerned, we have no stocks of either Fuel at their Derby Depot yet. ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
