BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} E LES DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/M7.3.33. C. to SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} HDY.{William Hardy} X 3673 INDEPENDENT FRONT WHEEL SUSPENSION. Herewith we send N. scheme 3679. - Arrangement of the central cylinder and springs on the above experiment. We are not quite sure about the convenience of assembling in the arrangement shewn, and propose to send an alternative in case it should be proved to be easier. As regards the springs we have closely followed the Lancia, which is the only independent front wheel suspension of which we have exact particulars. On N. scheme 3697, we have shewn the RR. system compared with the Lancia. We have not restricted the re-bound quite to the same extent that Lancia has done, but it is of course quite easy to restrict it if found desirable. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
