To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c.c to Ve. c.c to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HH. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/JE.1.4.41. re 40 m.m. Gun and Power Mounting for M.T. Boats. As requested we have produced an installation drawing of the 40 m.m. gun and power mounting suitable for use on the Scott-Paine Power Boat. The original of the drawing QPL.179 is attached to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HH's. copy of this memo. and we are asking him to send us 2 prints immediately, one will be sent to Commdr: Young as you requested and the second to Mr.Selman of the Power Boat Co. with whom we discussed this project when last we visited him. Because the Navy do not yet take kindly to the automatic gun we have called the magazine "a revised loading tray" and suggest that the firing mechanism be set in the "single shot position" permanently. The mounting is shown with a firing control and cut-out in order to protect the super-structure of the boat.
