an overload of 450 lbs.

It should be pointed out, however, that at the same time, each wheel was weighed separately, and their total sum weights did not coincide with the total actual weight by a big margin.

The Dunlop agent, who was present put no faith in these figures, and pointed out that it would be better to have the car weighed on a more accurate machine later on rather than take account of the present results, given by a negro operator, and which he considered quite inaccurate.

It is fairly evident that although 150 lbs overload might have assisted other causes to burst the tyres, it would have been unlikely that this should have been the sole reason [reason is crossed out].
