SPARE WHEEL CARRIER AND LUGGAGE AT REAR.

X.8400 X.8400

We send herewith N.sch.2339 Sheet 1. shewing the above. It will be noticed that we have altered the arrangement of the rear of the frame, reverting to a large extent to that on the first EAC.1. except for the length of the springs. This is the result of examination of the present EAC.7. sch., from which we came to the conclusion it involved considerable watse of room.

We are submitting this to R.{Sir Henry Royce} and it may be some little while before we get his remarks, but we think that it would be as well to proceed with it and get the pieces made for the existing car, as we think it is more important to get the spare wheel carried on the car going to France than to wait for the precise design.

A new dumb iron is called for, but the frame is not altered.

We have used as many of the existing pieces from the Phantom carrier as possible.

It will be seen that there is a new tank and this unfortunately is essential. We shall be sending a scheme of the tank in the course of a day or two, and also a detail of the special dumbiron which will be required to adapt this scheme to the first car.
