X.7565. To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} from EFC. EFC3/T15.11.23. X.2065 - RE EXPERIMENTAL DRIVING MOTOR. The field windings of this motor have now been made O.K. Though we have carefully adjusted the armature position, there is still an incipient fault in the armature in the nature of a short circuit of a portion of the winding, which short circuit however is not absolutely permanent and may not have been in evidence when the drop test was made. We have demonstrated the existence of the short circuit and it now appears that the only thing to do to remove this, is to remove a portion or possibly all of the armature winding and re-wind. We should be glad if you would kindly instruct your Mr. Toobey to carry out this further work. We are very anxious to get this matter right and as it is holding up our regular work. EFC. | ||
