Buick Petrol Consumption.

We have carried out a consumption test on the Buick with a view to seeing whether the fixed choke carburetter with the auxiliary pump, which appears to be so satisfactory for horse power, is equally satisfactory for petrol consumption. Attached are the figures obtained.

Under similar conditions, the average of two 20/25's running with the new carburetter came out at 14.7 m.p.g.

In view of the fact that the Buick gear ratio is about 10% lower than that of the 20/25 owing to the very small wheels fitted, we consider that this consumption is really very good.

This consumption test, combined with the slow running test, and the fact that the carburetter does not work at a high depression, indicates that we have in this carburetter something which if fitted directly to the Wraith should give excellent results.
