Dear Sir,
We left Grenoble on Tuesday morning and arrived at Auxerre on Tuesday evening - a run of 229 miles per speedometer.
After doing 40 miles, the air line pipe to the petrol gauge on the instrument board, broke off close to the nipple, and so I have not been able to check our petrol consumption on this run.
We ran at high speeds ie 70-79 MPH for most part of the run, and the car went very well.
We did not experience any trouble through petrol starvation, and although it was a very hot day, our water temperature remained between 80-85°C, maximum temperature reached being 90°C.
