Dear Mr. Chichester,

Many thanks for your letter of the 9th inst. I quite understand that your letter is unofficial and much appreciate your offer to raise the point for us with the authorities both at Conduit Street and at Derby, and as requested I have pleasure in giving you the further information for which you ask.

PRICE Our retail price for 33 x 5 straight-sided Miller cord is £13.17.9 for the cover and £1.8.3 for the tube.

We are informed that Dunlops give manufacturers discounts equal to 36%. We are prepared to sell Miller tyres to your people for original equipment on Rolls-Royce cars at the above prices less 30% and 10% prompt cash, which is equal to 36%. Further, we are prepared to supply two trial covers and tubes at 50% off the above prices, nett cash.

COMFORT. The 33 x 5 Miller cord covers actually measure 5 1/4" in sectional diameter. Under separate cover I am sending you a section cut from an actual cover. Without knowing the actual axle weights of the back and front axles of R.R. open and closed cars, the writer cannot definitely state whether the pressures you mention are what we ourselves would recommend, but speaking roughly we would say that our pressures would be very near the ones you mention, if not actually the same. At any rate, we are quite sure that Miller cord tyres when run at such pressures will give more comfortable running and will last longer than other makes, whether cord or fabrics simply because, we know by actual tests that Miller Cord tyres resist ex-
