86021. EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.1/MA.27.5.33. Re. BATTERY FOR N.Sch.3712. Replying to your EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/25.5.33., we do not at all recommend the wooden crate battery as we consider this method of housing a lead battery without lining the box with lead, is as bad as it can possibly be. With regard to the fitting of two six volt units, on examination of your drawing it would appear to be impossible to withdraw a single 12 volt unit without dropping the battery box from the frame. In the circumstances therefore we recommended the two six volt unit battery which can easily be withdrawn without dropping the battery box, by removing one unit at a time.
