X3173. To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} ------------- c.c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ------- Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/HP.3.11.33. ----------------- Independent Front Wheels. ------------------------- Herewith is N. Sch. 3865 shewing auxiliary pull off springs attached to each front brake operating system. They are arranged so as to use all the existing pieces without alteration. The stop is the existing damper piston. It is not desired to have an independent stop on each brake operation, as we require the differential to work to equalise the pull on the vertical operating rods when turning on the locks. Another system of brake operation seems desirable with this suspension. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
