EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} from BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} S.F.C COPY. X.3565 BY1/P1.6.20. X.3565 THERMOMETER CONNECTION TO WATER UPTAKE IN CYLINDER. Referring to the above-matter, I had already discussed this question with Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}, and as we have a large number of the present design of uptake which demands a double union scheme I have arranged to fit a peg and also sweat up the larger union solid. I do not think you will have any difficulty as soon as this has been done. With reference to our attitude towards parts which have been sent away, I think these might be allowed to stand as they are until they are returned to the works for repair, when they would each be sweated up as they come along. The failure is not one which would occur on the road, but would occur when either doing up or undoing the connection in question. The worst thing that could happen is, that the thermometer would be out of commission. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
