CHASSIS - MAKE & BREAK MECHANISM. ------------------------------------------------- We ought not to make any more of the present type make and break levers and contacts for repair, other than those which are absolutely essential to carry on. I understand there is a question at the moment of preparing another 700 levers with contact points of the present type. We know that this design will develop the original trouble and such levers will require replacement. It is therefore most important that we should keep our orders down to only sufficient quantities to supply our requirements from month to month. The reason for the foregoing instruction is that we have new found a way to prevent the contacts burning in a modified form of contact breaker, and existing cases can be modified to incorporate the new parts, therefore as soon as the matter has been standardised we shall specify for repair work.
