Dear Oy.,

Here are the nearest approach to Arrangement Drawings of the Bentley that I can find.

As I previously pointed out, I am ashamed to state that our Drawing Office have been so busy that they have not succeeded in producing any Arrangement Drawings for the Bentley.

Explaining those I send, E.59479 represents a cross section of an engine provided for military work, which is similar to the Bentley except for the cylinder head and the piston. I have already sent a drawing of our piston to Ellis, so that that covers this point. The proper Bentley cylinder head is shown on Drawing L&C.2566 and we have now raised the compression ratio to 6.5 as standard. With this ratio the car runs quite happily on fuel of about 72 octane rating, and does not really detonate badly even at the end of 10,000 miles without decarbonising.

Drawing EB.141 shows the layout of the valve gear.

If the information I have given you does not cover the particular point in which you are interested if you will let me know I will see what I can do for you.
