Steering Column & Box - Myth. PL.444, the original of which we attach to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HH's copy, shows the steering column and box for the Myth Chassis. The main dimensions of the box are taken from the provisional drawing 4-717 received from Messrs. Burman & Sons, Ltd., and the length of column is obtained from PL.543 and the scheme of the steering wheel and head PL.687. Burmans have told me that they would like further discussion about the box and the job it has to do before making either their final drawing or the box itself. Since the delivery date has not yet been discussed it might be as well to get this settled as soon as possible. The proposed box is not the standard Burman Douglas, but an improved version with guided nut and equal leverages on both locks, which would have been standardised in various 1940 model cars in normal circumstances.
