Re Woodhead Interleaved Type Springs.
With reference to the above, apparently this particular type of spring was obtained by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM{Anthony F. Martindale} without a drawing being made.
There is a detail drawing in existence for the 50" ors springs, but regarding the 56" ors springs, we understand that immediately prior to the war, an actual 56" spring was submitted to By's DO, to enable a drawing of same to be made.
We find that there was not sufficient time to make the necessary drawing.
Will you, therefore, please let us have a 56" spring, to enable this department to make a detail drawing of same.
Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HH.
