X5661 EFC. C - Mr. Brook. BY8/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 17.12.26. 20 HP. DYNAMOS. ------------- Referring to EFC3/T.16.12.26. I have actually been over this ground with Mr. Brock previously. We made tests with machines having the following eccentricities:- .010 .015 .020 The range in question was tried out on one machine, and the result of a number of tests was that I was quite satisfied that we could not gain any benefit which would justify the extra work for the very nominal amount of quietening which occurred. In no case, with .010 eccentricity, was a sufficient improvement made to justify us making the change, nor would it have passed MX.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} finally. We would consider that if the proposals in the last paragraph of EFC3/T.16.12.26. do make a material benefit, it is worth while urging this forward with the utmost speed, as at the moment we appreciate the 20 HP. dynamo, with no means of correcting it, for quietness, is a bone of contention between the Works and the Test Dept.
