K.L.G SPARKING PLUGS LIMITED

Important Notice re K.L.G. Integrally Screened
Plugs, Elbows, Elbow Connections, for use with
Ignition Harness and High Tension Cable
Connection Parts.

THE development of the K.L.G. Integral Screen for sparking plugs having now been completed to the satisfaction of the Air Ministry and aero engine manufacturers generally, it has now become necessary to issue a definition of the Screen and its Components.

SPARKING PLUGS - INTEGRALLY SCREENED.

The Screen itself is formed by a tubular extension of the gland nut containing a lining of insulating material and it is applicable to all standard K.L.G. aero plugs. Any standard plug in which the screen is incorporated is identified by the prefix letter "R".

Thus:- standard plug V.7/3 - with screen R-V.7/3 or
" " V.14/1 - " " R-V.14/1.

In order to avoid error it is essential that this prefix "R" should be used when ordering any Integrally Screened type of K.L.G. plug.

By agreement with the Air Ministry and aero engine manufacturers these "R" type screened plugs will, in future, be supplied without any terminal fittings or cable nuts. If terminal fittings, cable nuts or elbows are required they must be ordered separately.

CABLE NUT - K.L.G. Drawing No.B.393/1.

The Cable Nut, which incorporates the spring "clicker" locking device, screws down on the end of the tubular extension of the gland nut.

A Cable Nut is required when Elbow types R-70, R-90, R-120 or T1.90 are to be used, but in the case of Elbow type H.90/1 a Cable Nut is included in the assembly and a separate one is not necessary.

It is sufficient, when ordering, to state "Cable Nut" only unless any of the earlier types of cable nuts manufactured during the initial development stages are specifically required.

Cable Nuts will be supplied and priced as an individual unit.

ELBOWS.

Varying types of Elbows have been found necessary to meet the requirements of different engines and styles of Ignition Harness. The following are the standardised "K.L.G" types now available, although it is possible that additional types may ultimately be necessary.
