84038. Expl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Les.5/MJ. April 21st.1932. Messrs. S. Smith & Sons Ltd., Cricklewood Works, LONDON.N.W.2. For the attention of Mr. Mainwaring. Dear Sir, We have discovered that the trouble with the petrol gauge needle is caused from the instrument being close to the speedometer. Will you therefore please test an A.T. speedometer at 30 to 40 M.P.H. near a petrol gauge. We are carrying out further tests and we may have to move the position of the petrol gauge in the instrument patch. At the moment we are not returning any gauges to you. We shall be very interested to hear your views when you have carried out the above test. Yours faithfully, For Rolls-Royce Ltd. | ||
