Waller - Head of Chateauroux}14/MH.{M. Huckerby}28.9.37. 200a 6-B-IV. BENTLEY. Clutch Tests with Thermoid Facings. This car has covered 1000 miles since the clutch spring poundage was increased. The smoothness of engagement is good and did not deteriorate during 18 hours running in London traffic. The slipping complained of has been overcome by the stronger springs, but the pedal pressure now seems heavy. It has been measured and found to be 50lbs. which is only 3 lbs. above standard. There has been no measurable loss of pedal travel indicating that the wear of the facings is negligible. The trunnion thrust bearing has been noisy throughout the running. A list of faults reported is attached, which will require investigation. The car is at present in the shop for re-setting the Armstrong dampers and fitting the Hardy Spicer propellor shaft. Talam | ||
