To HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/WJC. c. to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC{R. Childs}/CAP. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC.{R. Childs}3/JR.{Mr James Royce}28.6.39. Dynamo off car 27.G.VI. The dynamo belonging to 27.G.VI. was removed from the car with the complaint of noisy bearings. Examination shewed that the bearing at the driving end had apparently been scored by some hard substance entering the bearing. At the same time, some noise arose from the brushes chattering on the blackened commutator. Will you please arrange for this machine to be cleaned, overhauled and have the commutator skimmed. A new bearing should be fitted at the driving end, and the other bearing checked. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Lr.{Mr Ellor} | ||
