GROUPED INSTRUMENTS. RE POSITION OF SAME IN REGARD TO SPORTS PHANTOM AND STANDARD PHANTOM.
------------------------------------------

In regard to grouped instruments, BJ. and Sales are emphatically against using even the six sets which have been produced in the Experimental Department. His attitude towards the scheme is that it represents increased expense, it is already out of date so far as being an advanced design is concerned, since many cheap cars are similarly fitted, and he does not propose to have it fitted to any of the Sports cars or Demonstration cars, his remark was "it is better to bury the material than use it". For the present therefore I consider that the Experimental Dept. should put the material into Store and hold it there.

Mr. Booth will have to modify his instructions for the Sports car by cutting out the grouped instrument scheme and replacing it with present standard arrangement of instruments arranged on the usual instrument board.
