Further particulars of the Willard and Exide batteries are contained in the enclosed copies of letters from the makers.

If the Exide batteries are as good as their claims (and it should be noted that they generally are, whereas the Willard claims seem to be a little extravagant) there can be little doubt that the Exide 6XXC is the battery for us to use.

It should be noted that they will all go, without alteration, into our existing external battery box and that the difference in weight is not great.

STARTER CABLE:

The R-R starter cable is 84 strands of .0201 wire as made for us by the Kerite Co., the total cross section being 34,000 circular mills. Weight .156 lbs. per ft. or 3 3/4 lbs. per car at 24 ft. per car. Voltage drop per car .69 volts per 100 amps.

No.0 cable, standard S.A.E., 133 strands of .0285 wire, cross section 107743 circular mills. Weight .437 lbs. per ft. or 10.5 lbs. per car. Voltage drop per car .22 volts per 100 amps.

Extra large cable on 4-EX was 259 strands of .0226 wire, cross section 148,000 circular mills. Weight about
