X.4209 RE. SUGGESTED IMPROVED PLATE FOR REAR AXLE SPRING SUPPORTS.

Further to the above, and memo. EP {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} 25/F30.11.20, please note that some of these wearing plates are now coming through as instructed by you, but we cannot fit these as the standardisation sheet has not yet been signed.

We want to make it quite clear that we now have a large number of complaints from customers of the spring knocking on the roller. We have actually two cars in our hands at present for this complaint.

We want a decision as to whether we can fit the new roller plates to these cars or whether we are to despatch the cars and tell the customers that we will overcome their complaint as soon as the roller plates are standardised.

As we have previously pointed out, we are of course having to despatch new chassis in which this trouble is existent.
