.4009. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/IMW.{Ivan M. Waller - Head of Chateauroux} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6/R.1.8.39. HAND IGNITION CONTROL. We note what you say with regard to hand ignition control in your note of the 30th July. We feel that the simplest way of dealing with this problem is to let the distributor move when the engine position alters under braking. In other words, if the distributor is free and is not up against a stop, we do not see why it should not move momentarily and go back to its normal position subsequently. Will you please let us know why this cannot happen. Incidentally, all the other controls should be affected in the same way as the ignition control by movement of the engine, but presumably they go back again. As far as we know, the engine mounting on your car should be exactly similar to 8-B-V, and on this earlier car no disability was found on the other controls due to the engine permanently altering its position. We appreciate that the ignition control is peculiar to the 'Corniche'. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
