re NORMA HOFFMANN BALL BEARINGS.
Merlin Engines.
--------------------

With reference to your HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/RS.{Sir Henry Royce's Secretary}4/JW.20.12.40.,
Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GB. has discussed the question of the S.7 bearings with E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} and it would appear that it is essential to use the US.7 self-aligning type of bearings. America had not been advised of the change in accordance with DES.9074.

The question of the disposal of S.7 bearing is being looked into to see whether they can be used anywhere else.
