-2- (3) Steering slack in centre. Fitters from Lillie Hall dismantled steering, fitted bottom washer and over size cam, took up slackness in centre position but could not get even slackness on right and left full turns. (left possible.) Passable (4) Archer instructed maximum load on track rod spherical joints, load increased from 90 in/lbs. to 120-140 in/lbs. cured wobbles but there is a knock from the side steering tube rear springs and on the road can be felt through the steering wheel .080" to .085" washer fitted under springs. (5) Servo slack in front brake adjustment shortened rod. Adjusted front brakes, cured thump and pulling to N.S. (6) Hand brake lever, pins too tight. (7) Plugs wet (cleaned). (8) Petrol Pump (no complaint) found leaking under outlet elbow, crack or blow hole in casting. 3AZ 34. (1) Steering joggles. (2) Very marked propellor shaft period at 50 MPH. (3) Braking all on rear. Car returned to Derby. 3AZ 28. (1) Clutch jagger. (2) Poor brakes. (3) Steering joggles. (a) Clutch passed off up to present standard. (b) Brakes adjusted.
