Dear Sirs,

We acknowledge your letter of the 29th.instant, reference Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.14/JH. concerning the P100R test on a Bentley chassis, which has completed 18,600 miles.

Your remarks concerning the 4 screws holding the Dipper Main Bracket to the Body, having broken away, have been duly noted, and we confirm our telephone conversation with you this afternoon, which we state that these screws had not been altered in any way, having been used since the P100 design, and we suggest that it is possible they were removed at some time, and then replaced and not screwed tightly into position.

Under these circumstances, we think you will agree that there is no need to take any action at our end, other than watching carefully that these screws are tightened up fully when being assembled.

Assuring you of our best attention at all times.

We are Sirs,
Yours faithfully,
JOSEPH LUCAS LIMITED.
