For the attention of Mr. Robotham.
Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Ltd.,
Derby.
Dear Sirs,
In accordance with your suggestion at the writer's last visit to your Works, we have increased the bore of the pump so as to reduce the wall thickness and thus make the article slightly lighter. At the same time we suggest suppressing the external fixing screw for the knob, replacing this arrangement with a locking nut and flat on the spindle, which we think is a neater and more satisfactory job.
We are enclosing sample* for your inspection, and should be obliged if you would consider giving this change your approval, as we think it will be nothing but an improvement in the manufacture, and can be brought in after about the first 100 gauges have been delivered.
Assuring you at all times of our best attention.
Yours faithfully,
H.M. HOBSON, LTD.,
