G.W.Hancock, Hotel de France, Chateauroux, Indre, France. To GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} From Ha/Rn.{Mr Robinson} Ha/Rn.{Mr Robinson}1/J.11.3.30. We are somewhat puzzled by your report that the connecting links of the rear shock absorbers were short of lubrication and knocking. You will remember that just before you left we went over the job and put fresh oil grooves in the top and bottom pad which we hoped would overcome the trouble. We hope that it will not be necessary to increase the drip plug size further, they are already S.1, however, we send you two S.2 plugs to try to see if they do overcome the trouble. We have had cases of the pipes along the shock absorber arm cracking. In parallel we are carrying out some tests here to see whether we can evolve any better arrangement for the oil reaching the bottom pad. With reference to the drawing of the dash-board brackets. We send you a general arrangement drawing of this. The fitting will not be a very easy matter as it means cutting off the existing lug from the dash-board. However, we should like you to have a go at it. We suggest that you get a reading of the height of the rear of the gear-box relative to the top of the frame and check this up at the end of your next 5,000 miles to ascertain | ||
