X4553 a To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Copy to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}E. BY.Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}Dn.EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} re 4-B-IV. 10,000 Miles Test. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}10/E19.4.34 Thanks for Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}8/KW.14.4.34 enclosing GHW's report. I should be glad to have a list of the items which it is proposed to standardise as the result of this test. The Aerolite pistons seem to have stood up very well and I understand from Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} that, whilst they have the advantage of giving us about another 9/10 HP, they also make it easier to start from cold, which is important from the point of view that we know that our starter motor is none too efficient. Would it not be as well to get a set on to Bn{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington}'s car so that they could get some ordinary running as distinct from 10,000 miles test usage. Sg.{Arthur F.
