By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} c.to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} XC4586 Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}7/WJ11.5.25. Steel Artillery Wheels and Hubs. Wire Wheels and Hubs. Distinguishing letters and numbers. As you are aware, the standard wire wheels and hubs for our 40/50 HP. chassis are known as type E.5, and the standard wire wheels and hubs used until recently on the 20 HP. chassis have been known as type E.2. In view of the adoption of a different type of hub for the steel artillery wheels for 40/50 HP. chassis and different hubs for both wire wheels and steel artillery wheels for 20 HP. chassis, the Dunlop Rim & Wheel Co. have suggested in a letter dated 6th inst. (copy attached) the adoption of the undermentioned distinguishing letters and numbers:- 40/50 HP.Chassis - Standard Wire Wheel & Hubs - Type E.5 " " - Steel Artillery Wheel & Hubs - Type H.5 20 HP.Chassis - Standard Wire Wheel & Hubs - Type G.2 " " - Steel Artillery Wheel & Hubs - Type H.2 Will you kindly let me know whether you see any objection to the adoption of the above-mentioned distinguishing letters and numbers.
