Date. | Mileage. | Reference to steering.
.8.26 | 4051 | Standard cross steering tube fitted - steer-ing better for absence of inclination to wobble at high speeds, but road shocks are worse!
.8.26 | 6007 | Steering - no signs of wobbles at high or low speeds. On smooth roads at high speeds there are times when it is inclined to wander. On rough roads at high speeds there are slight shocks on the steering wheel and wandering of steering wheel is increased by 10%. On medium roads at high speeds there is a lumpy feeling the whole time. We had during the run, the two rear tyres go down slowly simultaneously, which had the effect of making it impossible to steer the car straight.
.8.26 | 6509 | Steering - no signs of wobbles at high or low speeds. Slight inclination to wander on good roads. Steering is more difficult to hold when rear tyres are punctured at high speed when using 6.75" tyres.
.8.26 | 7013 | Steering light at high speeds: inclined to wander. Slight shocks on steering wheel on bad roads - no signs of wobbles at high or low speeds.
.8.26 | 7516 | No high or low speed wobbles - slight shocks at high speeds on rough roads - slight in-clination to wander on good roads at high speeds.
.8.26 | 8018 | No alteration in steering.
.8.26 | 8523 | Steering still inclined to wander at high speeds on good roads. Slight shocks on steering wheel on good roads. Self-centering fair, inclined to be tacky at slow speeds - 10 to 15 m.p.h. approximately.
.8.26 | 9000 | Steering selectivity not so good on smooth roads at high speeds. No signs of wobble at high or low speeds. Shocks still felt on wheel over rough roads. Steering inclined to be to tacky and binds at extreme locks. Self-centering fair - inclined to stick.
