12-EX CAR - STEERING.

Date. | Mileage. | Reference to Steering.
---
2.8.26 | 504 | Steering on moderate and rough roads was fair, severe shocks on steering at times were felt at speeds between 60 & 70 m.p.h. There was every symptom of wobbles, but they never materialised. The steering is very light and inclined to stick slightly on extreme lock.

3.8.26 | 1004 | Steering poor at high speeds for road shocks - on moderate and rough roads it was inclined to wobble and bad shocks are felt on the steering wheel.

4.8.26 | 1538 | Steering is very poor at high and moderate speeds for shocks and inclination to wobble, there being very bad jaggering of the steering wheel between the speeds of 62 and 65 m.p.h. and on the overrun from 65 to 68 m.p.h. This is made worse if the brakes have to be applied making it difficult to hold.

5.8.26 | 2039 | Steering still bad after checking balance of wheels, out of balance caused by wear of tyres.

7.8.26 | 2541 | Steering at high speeds considerably improved in the inclination to wobble by increasing front tyre pressures to 45 lbs. Road shocks are more pronounced and a knock developed in steering box - can be heard in steering column when running at medium speeds - it appears to come from worm and rocker shaft, these shewing signs of wear. MYS

8.8.26 | 3041 | Steering improved with new tyres fitted but still far from being satisfactory at medium and high speeds.

9.8.26 | 3548 | Steering still poor for road shocks and inclination to wobble at high speeds on medium and bad roads: definite wobble develops at 25 m.p.h. when brakes are applied suddenly.
