Dear Sirs,
We thank you for your letter of the 25th inst., and beg to inform you that we have now received the gauge to which you refer. We are carefully examining this, and will let you have a report of our findings.
From a cursory examination we notice that the glass tube is broken off completely, it is not, as we at first thought, that the cement joint has given way. We will, however, communicate with you again in the course of a few posts as to the result of our investigations.
Yours faithfully, H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} HOBSON, Ltd.,
Joint Managing Director.
