Copy. X2200 To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey}2/KT.26.2.31. X2200. MAYBACH GEAR DOGS. 14-EX. Will you please produce and fit to 14-EX. a set of Maybach Gear Dogs having a face angle of 5° instead of the present 10°. In addition we shall in all probability require a set having a face angle of 2°, will you please get these going as well. The spring strength of the third and top gear selector mechanism is not correct. This should be such that it is possible to move the gear lever from top to third (or vice versa), the gear dog remaining in the first gear as it does when there is load on the gears, and the gear lever should remain in that position in spite of opposition from the gear dog engaging springs. We do not wish to do this by weakening the dog engaging springs (these are as weak as possible now) but by strengthening up the selector rod plunger springs. How strong they must be can only be determined by experiment. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey} | ||
