BRACEBRIDGE ST.{Capt. P. R. Strong} BIRMINGHAM, 6. OUR REF. CGS/HH YOUR REF. ........................ 18th December 1935 Messrs. Rolls-Royce Limited, Experimental Department, DERBY. Dear Sirs, FOR THE ATTENTION OF MR. ROBOTHAM. We beg to confirm the conversation which Mr. Craig together with the writer had with you on Monday last, when it was agreed that we would supply you with one of our International engines, 500 cc. identical with that used in our Model 30 machine illustrated on page twenty-seven of the enclosed catalogue, but to racing specification, which would include certain modifications which we make to our engines for racing purposes. It was agreed that we would quote you a nominal figure of £50. (Fifty Pounds), this to include magneto, carburetter and engine plates. It was also understood that as an additional consideration we would from time to time exchange information of a technical character which could be considered as mutually helpful. You appeared to appreciate in conversing in this matter that such an arrangement is more or less entirely dependent on the goodwill that may exist between us. Quite frankly, we have felt that to be able to at times to interchange technical information would be helpful to us. We are of the opinion that our experience, acquired over a considerable period of years with extensive research work which has been highly costly, could be advantageous to you and we believe that if we could have conversations with you from time to time on technical matters which your enlarged experience has given you, that such an arrangement could be helpful to us. | ||
