(5) Adjustable oil pressure relief valve.

Design already done for Merlin "C" and "D", and issued.

(6) Electric turning gear for the 750 HP. Kestrel with Ramp Head.

C.4/35
A design for this will follow on as soon as we have completed the modifications to the Merlin "C", to suit the various engine mountings.
AR F.R.B.Nks.

(7) Conduit type screening for ignition wires on Merlin and Kestrel types.

For Merlin "C" at the present time we have issued instructions for the present type of screening and until we have finally decided on what we are going to do in respect to the ignition plug position of this engine we do not propose to arrange conduit screening. In the meantime a certain amount of work has been done on Merlin "D" in connection with this matter, and the subject will be followed up for both types as soon as we can usefully do so.

In addition to the modifications enumerated in connection with the lower half crankcase, we should like to know if you are in agreement with adding cooling ribs similar to those standardised on Kestrel production. There appears to be every reason for keeping the engines in line in this respect.
