R.R. 493A (40 H) (SL 42 12-7-23) J.H., D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} EXPERIMENTAL REPORT. Expl. No. 9910 REF: Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1s/LG7.2.24. To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to CJ. RG.{Mr Rowledge} c. to DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} S E C R E T. BRAKES. We have been running today a 40/50 car fitted with the slow speed servo built up as a separate unit and driven off the rear end of the gearbox. The first impression of this is very pleasing. The brakes are applied smoothly and quietly with light pressure. There are one or two features which need attention, for instance, the brake pedal does not release itself, and we have trouble with oil getting on to the servo. These points are receiving RG{Mr Rowledge}'s attention. The servo runs perfectly cool even when the brakes are kept on with the power on for a considerable time. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
